Staying around town

Several long overdue posts. So many places I have been since I came back from Ohio and did a mini move that felt like an earthquake a crud. On top of that I hurt my ankle and couldn't do many hikes.

Needless to say the summer sucked so bad.  Yet there is much I have done in the last month to make up for it.

First thing you must know about me is that I love car rides and will stop to photograph the simplest thing in the world yet it makes me smile so wide. Sincerely I don't really need a person to make me happy just a walk in nature.

When I got back from Charleston I took more time off to just relax and "try" to settle into my apartment. Unfortunately I ended up taking more car rides in the last few days than I did in unpacking the items.

Still even now I sit in a room of ten small boxes. I don't even need to look inside, I already know what is in them. Just not ready to unpack it. Mostly the boxes contain my Bible studies and my journals ( art and poetry).

So onward.

I stayed pretty local for a few days. Just took pictures of small things but greatness to me.

Just a flower that got away. Its beautiful and solo on the hard brick walkway.

While I was sticking close to home we had rain, a calming I gain even a cleansing of sorts. I wrote a poem on my other blog about rain and how it makes me feel. "Fragile Rain"

I love this one. Just the way the wind picks up things and then the get splashed with rain. Droplets.

This is my favorite. It is so hard to photograph with my camera, in trying to get a spider web. Either the wind is blowing it or the sheen is too sheer for my phone to focus in on. So I thought this was a good compliment to the new phone. Still would love to get an awesome view of a spider web again. Spider or no, it doesn't matter to me.

So I love French macaroons. Like best thing above cake and candy by far.  This is from Amelie's French Bakery near Caramel Commons, I think. So what are the goodies?
2 are cafe au latte, 1 is salted caramel and 2 are passion fruit chocolate as well as two tea cakes (almond and lemon).

I liked this display of sunlight and hot blacktop so much that it just reminded me just how humid it can be after a rainstorm. The crackling humidity brought me to think that the textures in the leaf were phenomenal.

This last local photo is of my neighbors plant. It had two dried out flowers getting ready to fall but they were still so beautiful to photograph because of their colors. As my grandmother would say, its time to pinch them off but I just let them be. I thought they were not ready yet. Haha.

So this is just one of the days I stayed around town. I didn't need to adventure too far, frankly, I couldn't walk very well either.  So I remained close to home base. I ate home cooked meals and just enjoyed my cat and the warm days with rain. I slept and read a lot.

So until next time.

This is a ginger walking. Hoping for daisy finds.
