When you pull in there are trails behind to the left, a restroom area to immediate left and straight in front of you there is a playground. Beyond this playground on left is a small observation deck to look into trees and into woodsy area for animals.
To the right of that observation area is a step down walkway with gravel that leads you to the "pond" and a trail to connect to the 4 Mile Greenway.
However small the pond is, the observance of ducks and geese are abundant. There is a large square pier so entire groups or families can be looking over the water. Then next to the water is more trails connecting you to the greenway.
But when you come back up three fourths circle you see the picnic areas. I only saw 2 areas but they were good enough to accommodate a birthday party and a large family gathering.
I went down the side by the picnic areas and was stopped by a large collection of goslings or baby geese walking with family. I took pictures.
Goslings and family. Up close of gosling and its molting feathers. See the colors coming out from underneath the fuzz?
From here I went down and around the pond to the left. I headed down to where the junction was of Squirrel Lake Park and 4 Mile Greenway and did about half mile. Then I turned around because the weather was changing.
It is a quaint park. Good for small children newborn to about 4 and then good for a pit stop from the 4 Mile greenway.
Just some finds I was given to photograph this time around at this park. I will definitely be back to go down some areas of the 4 mile Greenway.
So until next time.
A ginger walking. Hoping for daisy finds.
Mary
